Questions Before Booking
-
Not at all. Many clients are completely new to sound or energy-based practices.
Sessions are intentionally grounded and approachable, with space to simply rest, slow down, and notice how you’re feeling without needing to “do” anything.

Energy work can mean different things across practices and traditions. At Athena Light, it's a hands-on or hands-near practice rooted in Reiki and informed by years of observation, practice, and attention to how people experience support differently.
Stress, emotion, and demanding periods of life often have physical effects long before we consciously register them. Energy work is one way of supporting the body where it may be holding tension, fatigue, overwhelm, or simply the accumulation of everyday life.
Experiences vary. Some people notice deep rest, warmth, emotional release, improved sleep, or a quieter mind. Others leave feeling different in ways that are harder to name. The goal isn't a prescribed outcome, but support for how someone arrives that day.
-
Sound and crystals aren't separate practices within a session, they're part of how the energy work unfolds.
Crystal singing bowls and other instruments are used responsively throughout the session rather than as background sound. Vibration and tone may support settling, attention, and the overall experience of the work. Bowls may also be placed on or near the body to deepen that experience.
Crystals are selected based on what appears most supportive in the moment and may be placed on or around the body. They are worked with intentionally and adjusted as the session unfolds.
-
Reiki shaped part of my foundation. I trained through Levels I–III in the Usui lineage. But Athena Light is not a Reiki practice, and sessions are not structured around the Reiki framework.
The work is rooted in energy work more broadly, responsive, attentive, and guided by what is present rather than a fixed method. Sound, crystals, and light touch are part of how that work unfolds. Reiki is one thread in the foundation. The practice is the integration of all of it.
-
Each session begins with a brief check-in exploring how you’re arriving physically, mentally, and emotionally, along with anything you’d like to support during the session.
From there, the work is guided responsively using energy work, sound, intuitive crystal work, light touch, or quiet rest depending on what appears most supportive in the moment. No two sessions are exactly alike.
People often describe warmth, deep rest, imagery, emotional release, or a quieter internal state afterward, though experiences vary from person to person.
-
Not exactly. While sessions can feel deeply calming or restorative, they are different from massage, which focuses on physical manipulation of muscles and tissue, and different from psychotherapy, which centers around conversation and mental health treatment.
Sessions at Athena Light are guided through energy work, sound, intuitive crystal work, and observation in a more responsive way. Some people experience deep rest, warmth, emotional release, or greater clarity afterward, though experiences vary.
-
Comfortable clothing is recommended. All sessions take place fully clothed while resting on a treatment table.
You don’t need to bring anything, the space is prepared to support a quiet, restorative experience.
-
That depends on your goals, schedule, and what kind of support feels most helpful.
Some clients book occasionally for rest and recalibration, while others prefer more regular sessions as part of an ongoing wellness practice.
-
Please mention any pregnancy, medical conditions, injuries, implants, sensitivities, or ongoing treatments during booking or before the session.
Sessions are non-medical in nature and may be adjusted to support comfort and safety.
-
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice. Sessions canceled within 24 hours are subject to a 50% fee charged to the card on file.
